Viva La Revolution has completed a full site inspection today in the new Wordpress 2.5 and passed with flying colours. The only piece of the toolkit that failed to perform was the optional third party ImageManager plugin, recommended for v2.3 users as the native Upload support of Wordpress was weak.

However, with WP 2.5 and the funky new upload/gallery utility it is easier than ever to upload your images and with one single tag have them thumbnailed on the fly in your theme.

 Viva is a simple toolkit that helps you tweak your theme files to create auto thumbnails form a common Custom Field tag on post. And it works better than ever in WP 2.5

Well Chosen Images are the Key to Success

So, you are using an auto thumbnailer such as Viva La Rev on your site. While you can set which part of the images get cropped for each different shape thumbnail on your homepage or sidebar you have to remember that the SAME portion of an image is cropped on every post, Therefore - careful selection of images is key - or cropping your original source image so that it will be well represented in the different thumbnail variations is the secret.

A well selected image can work in any of the 3 thumbnail locations on this page. A few seconds of prep on your source image (as well as well constructed manipulation files from the toolkit) can ensure your site ALWAYS looks good.
